Safety when travelling abroad is the top worry for 77% cent of Brits. Market research firm BDRC Continental surveyed around 1,000 people and over three quarters of them say it’s a consideration.
They’ve ranked the top eleven cities for tourism and found that Istanbul is believed to be the least safe. Only 37% thought Paris was ‘very safe’ or ‘fairly safe.’
At number nine was Beijing, then Athens, Berlin, New York, Rome and Barcelona. London was perceived third safest. Sydney came second but 71% of people believed Edinburgh to be ‘very safe’ or ‘fairly safe.’
