Many Brits follow the crowds in summer and head for the beaches of the South of France. But French holidaymakers in the know actually go west, to the quieter shores of the Bay of Biscay and, in particular, the unspoiled island of Île de Re.

Keri spoke to Alex Spalding from Alternative Aquitaine, a company that specialises in holidays to the area, about the attractions of the island.
