The painter William Turner is famous for his moody images of London and the British coastline. But few people realise that he’s also credited with putting Germany on the tourist map.

Keri Jones spoke to Kevin Kalfels about the launch of the Turner Route, which spans a 65km stretch of the Rhine Valley between Koblenz and Bingen. The route marks the 200th anniversary of Turner’s arrival in Germany.
