We’re taking more holidays than we did during the recession. No surprise perhaps, but where we are going is interesting.
Last summer, Brits enjoyed 14% more breaks than in 2011. Research by Sainsbury’s Bank revealed that trips to traditional destinations like Spain, Italy and the United States are up.
But there’s also been a 19% boost in Brit’s choosing Japan, while visits to Iceland are up 20%, perhaps because of so many low cost carriers like Icelandair and Wow are offering cheap flights there. Slovakia has also grown in popularity.
